Islam is a religion with a growing number of adherents of the world's highest, according to a study by the Pew Research Center, a leading research institutions from the United States, as quoted by CNN last weekend.
Menuru the Pew study, the growth of the followers of Islam do not only occur in Muslim-majority countries, but also in regions where Muslims are still a minority.
By 2050, in Europe for example, it is estimated as many as 10 percent of European citizens embrace Islam. The study estimates that in total from 2010-2050, the Muslims of the world will grow by 73 percent, followed by 35 percent Christian and 34 percent Hindu.
That means, Islam - which is currently the second largest religion in the world - will shift the Christianity as a religion with the most followers on Earth in 2050.
Islam will be the religion with the most followers in the world because, obviously Pew, Muslim women on average have more children more than women of other faiths.
One Muslim women have an average of 3.1 children, while women of other faiths have an average of 2.1 children. Moreover, Muslims average of seven years younger ketimbag adherents of other world religions.
