famous Lebanese scientist became a homeless man in his old age. Georges Gerges was once a scientist and lecturer at the most prestigious university in Lebanon. This 90-year-old grandfather lost most of his property during the civil war. He also lost hope due to a corrupt political system.

Georges Gerges, 90, nicknamed "Captain," lit a cigarette while sitting on a corner of a street in Dora's industrial estate on the northern outskirts of Beirut, Lebanon, on Wednesday (8/11). Gerges was once a renowned scientist and lecturer at one of Lebanon's most prestigious universities. However, now he has to pass through his old days as a homeless man.
