Reuters reported, the science fiction film received many positive ratings of four of the five stars for energy and emotion aspects in the film.

The Washington Post on the other hand praised Johnson for the humor and love that the Last Jedi script had.
But not all give positive reviews. As perceived entertainment media Variety who rated The Last Jedi 'quite disappointing'.
"The Last Jedi feels like a significant disappointment, made very less by its predecessor to maintain enthusiasm for the next round of the trilogy," said CNN.

Before various reviews appeared, a number of film industry analysts predict The Last Jedi could gain US $ 185 million to US $ 215 million in the North American market in the first weekend.
