As with smartphone sales globally, patent war turns out to make competition between smartphone vendors competitive.
Lots of cases that are dragged to the green are only patent cases. Starting from Apple and Samsung, Apple and Qualcomm, Nokia and BlackBerry, and the latest is actually between the two rulers of the smartphone industry today, namely Samsung and Huawei.
The war between Samsung and Huawei actually happened a long time ago, beginning with Huawei suing Samsung in China and the US with cover-up cases. Samsung also responded with a number of complaints about patent infringement.
But in the end, as reported by FOSS Patents, Huawei and Samsung are preparing an off-court settlement agreement that will end the dispute between the two tech giants at the green table. If an agreement is reached within this 30-day period, the plaintiff in this case is Huawei, expected to submit a motion without resistance to dismiss the case which is almost three years old.
This is a good thing, considering that Samsung and Huawei should only compete in the revolutionary innovation of the smartphone world and also sell well.
