Pulitzer Prize winner Ronan Farrow was nominated for the prestigious award, Book Critic Prizes. The book about Harvey Weinstein and the #MeToo movement catapulted his name to several other awards.
The book entitled 'Catch and Kill: Lies, Spies, and a Conspiracy to Protect Predators' traces allegations of sexual harassment and attacks carried out by Weinstein.
"The book is included in the biography category," writes the NBCC statement as the organizer, as reported by the AP on Monday (1/13/2020).
Harvey Weinstein is known as a former US film producer. In a 2017 police report, Weinstein has sexually harassed women in the past three decades.
Another nominee is Chanel Miller through the famous memoir 'Know My Name'. The memoir dismantled a case of sexual harassment by a Stanford University student, Brock Turner.
NBCC also announced 5 other nominations in 6 competitive categories, from fiction to poetry. Founded in 1974, the winner will be announced on March 12, 2020.
